Identities, signatures and sending rights
Managing the From address, Reply-To, signatures and default identity.
What an identity is
An identity defines how the sender appears: From address, display name, Reply-To and signature. One mailbox may have several authorised identities, but it cannot use an arbitrary external address.
Manage from Webmail
From Webmail → Identities you can:
- add or edit the display name;
- configure Reply-To;
- enter text and HTML signatures;
- select the default identity;
- delete an unnecessary identity when policy permits.
Administrative addition
From Admin → Mail → Mailbox detail, an administrator can add an identity to a specific mailbox. Before enabling it, verify ownership of the address and confirm that it does not conflict with another mailbox or alias.
Sending
In Compose, select the identity in the From field. DES verifies that the current user is authorised to use it. If the action is denied, do not bypass the control; correct the sharing, delegation or identity configuration.
