Sign-in, password and sessions
Signing in to DES, mandatory temporary-password change and safe session termination.
Sign-in
Open the DES address supplied by your administrator. Enter your user name or email address and password. After successful authentication, the system opens Webmail or the administrative area according to your role.
If sign-in fails, verify:
- the full address is typed correctly;
- the correct domain is being used;
- the account is active;
- the temporary password has not expired;
- no licence or security policy is restricting access.
Temporary password
A new user may receive a temporary password. On first sign-in DES opens Change Password. Enter the current temporary password and the new password twice. The new value must satisfy the minimum length and lifetime configured by the administrator.
Session and sign-out
Use Logout, especially on a shared computer. Never leave an administrative session open. If you suspect unauthorised access, change the password and notify an administrator, who can review the audit events.
