Sharing, Delegation and Act As

Grant access

From Webmail → Sharing, the owner or an authorised administrator selects a mailbox, user and permission. Depending on the active mode, rights may include reading, modifying, sending as the mailbox or sending on its behalf.

Act As

In Proxy mode the user chooses Act As for an authorised mailbox. The interface displays the current mailbox context. Always verify the context before deleting, moving or sending.

Revoke access

When access is no longer required, remove the sharing or delegation entry. Changing a team in an external directory is not sufficient. Review active sessions as well.

Good practice

• Use individual permissions instead of a shared password.
• Grant Send As only when recipients should see the mailbox address directly.
• Use On Behalf when the actual sender should remain visible.
• Review the audit log when an operation is disputed.
