Monitoring, SLA, alerts and incidents
Service and office-node state, periodic snapshots and response to violations.
What is monitored
The Monitoring worker collects snapshots for services, queues, office nodes, capacity and other operational indicators according to configuration. SLA rules compare observed state with permitted thresholds.
Alert
An alert should identify the object, severity, time, observed value and rule. Before acting, determine whether it is one transient event or a continuing violation.
Incident
When integrated with Nextera, a significant alert may create an incident. DES remains the source for technical mail data, while Nextera coordinates the broader support or hosting process.
Configuring intervals
An interval that is too short creates noise, while one that is too long delays detection. Choose frequency based on criticality and capacity. After a change, monitor false positives and missed events.
