Quotas, storage and maintenance

Tracking used space, recalculation and response when a limit is reached.

Quota levels

A limit may apply at mailbox, domain, service or plan level. Effective quota is derived from local configuration, licence and an optional Nextera plan.

When a limit is reached

A user may see a quota warning, while new delivery or storage may be restricted according to policy. Do not raise a limit automatically without checking physical capacity and the contracted plan.

Recalculate

After migration, import or recovery, used space may be recalculated with the maintenance tool. Compare the result with file or database storage and review incomplete imports.

Cleanup

Cleanup must follow retention policy. Do not delete audit, Quarantine or old mail merely to free space without approval. First determine which data may legally and operationally be removed.
